The Bell saga continues
(en francais)

Campaign Stories #2

Bell wasn't supposed to show up until Friday to conduct the "repairs" on our phone lines. Imagine our surprise when Thursday afternoon not one, but two technicians showed up. Seems that Bell had issued separate work orders for each phone line that needed repairing. Bureaucracy at it's best. Kudos to the techs they sent this time. Like night and day. Two professionals who had us up and running in no time. Unfortunately, the internet is a totally different department. Currently we are still waiting for someone in the 'Central Office' to flip the magical switch to turn us on.

Our VOIP provider could teach Bell a thing or two about customer service. On short notice, they added six additional seats to our account in under the normal timeframe and sooner than we expected. H/T to Melissa and Marissa - you're the best! Eight VOIP seats, 24 phones lines ready to rock and roll. VoterID is king. All the work and training of the last years starts paying off now, as we have already been through the implementation and training issues. Plug and play at this point.

Signs are rolling along. Over 650 signs out so far - only another 1400 to go! Received several phonecalls today from long-time Conservative supporters who were stunned. They're not used to seeing that many signs out halfway through the campaign let alone in the first two days. Good job team!

Local media profile on CBC Windsor left a little to be desired today, but reinforced the importance of proper media preparation. Lesson learned. Better to get those ones out of the way early in the campaign.

Phone issues aside, the office is ready to go. We're having our first volunteer training sessions Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Official opening on Tuesday evening. Some great things planned for the opening and the turnout is already looking impressive.

Key word is momentum and Team Fuschi is building up a head of steam. People are pumped like they haven't been in over 20 years, and it shows. Seventy years is a long time to wait. Windsor-Tecumseh Conservatives are hungry, and it's time to eat!
