Constable John Atkinson - RIP

Const. Atkinson: Our community mourns
As an undercover officer with the province's anti-terrorism unit, Atkinson's job was lonelier than most. He toiled in anonymity and worked long hours away from his loving family to make his community -- our community -- a better place. He loved his job and he was good at it. We owe him a debt of respect for his service and his family, especially his young children, a debt for his sacrifice.
People may post their expressions of condolences online.
Books of condolences for signing by the public will be placed in five locations beginning at 10 a.m. today.
There will be a candlelight vigil Tuesday at 8pm, Windsor Civic Terrace, Glengarry and Goyeau
Funeral will be Thursday at the St. Denis centre.
A memorial fund is being established, details of which will be available after 2pm this afternoon.
