CP misses a few things
(en francais)
Here we go again. CP story posted on Canada.com - missing the detail that it's the long-gun registry that the government is moving on. They seem to have the same sort of mental block that Canwest News Service has regarding this topic.
Another question I've often asked and researched but have never been able to find an answer. You see figures everywhere from 2000 to 5000 quoted for how often each day the registry is consulted.
We never hear what the accuracy rate is. 5000 is such a nice sounding number but what if it's only 60% accurate?

Police consult the firearms databank about 5,000 times a day.

Long-gun registry to be axedToronto Star:
Showdown looming over gun registryThe Star headline is misleading, but at least the story correctly identifies the long-gun registry as the target.
