Let auditor general clean up adscam mess
Letter
August 22, 2005
The government of Canada is committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure the safeguard of Canadians' hard-earned money, said Scott Brison, minister of Public Works and Government Services.
This includes ensuring funds improperly obtained from the government of Canada are recovered.
Given that Canadians may be a little skeptical of the government's actions to recover adscam money from the Liberal party, I'd like to see an honest commitment from Brison for a change.
Will Brison commit to handing over the Liberal portion of the file to an independent agency to ensure the safeguard of Canadians' hard-earned money? Considering the Liberals' obvious conflict of interest in this situation, the honourable thing to do would be to step aside.
Considering her familiarity with the file, I think Auditor General Sheila Fraser would be an eminently qualified person to shepherd this task.
What say you, Minister Brison? Are you really committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure the safeguard of Canadians' hard-earned money?

I submitted this to a bunch of papers, if anyone see's it published let me know.
Motivation - one person - one vote at a time.
