Carolyn Bennett has some homework to do
(en francais)

I wonder if Liberal Leadership candidate Carolyn Bennett read the Liberal Party's "Code of Conduct" for leadership candidates prior to her Childcare or Prison statements.

If she has, she might want to re-read the section entitled 'Public Image'. If she hasn't, someone should get her a copy REALLY quick.
Public Image

Our reputation and identity are among the Liberal Party of Canada’s most valuable assets. No one should act in a way, or make any statement in any media, including Internet chat rooms and our internal electronic media, that adversely affects the reputation or image of the Liberal Party of Canada in the community at large. Only those designated by the National Executive or the National Director may act as official spokespeople for the Liberal Party of Canada.
Oops. Too late!

Even after losing the last election, the Liberals can't admit the fact that Canadians are interested in making their own choices for once instead of having a nanny state government tell them what's right.

Much like the Scott Reid/John Duffy 'Beer and Popcorn' combo, ex-Justice Minister Irwin Cotler decided to weigh in on the issue during yesterday's question period.
Harper eats babies and jails them?
Yesterday, former Liberal justice minister Irwin Cotler accused Harper of fighting an imaginary crime wave by building more prison cells at the expense of the Liberal child care plan. Whew! And the Grits think this kind of hysterical rhetoric is going to get them re-elected? Dream on, boys and girls.
Despite all their protests to the contrary, the 'Father knows best' attitude of the Liberal party still pervails.
